The FloraBama

or what is left of it.

Wondering about --The Florabama, the best roadhouse in the U.S. ???

The brick building in front that housed the package store and connected to the area we used to call the Main Stage is now gone. Just the outside parts are left. But the show goes on, as these photos show For anyone not familiar with the Gulf Coast, the FloraBama is right on the Florida / Alabama line.

Rusty McHugh Memorial Party

The Deck Stage functions as the Main Stage now. In summer there is a big white tent set up on the sand for a second band.

Rust McHugh Memorial

We went to the FloraBama for the Rusty McHugh Memorial Party. Rusty was a regular performer at the ' Bama and died of cancer way to young. Many of his songs are very funny and lots of the FloraBama regulars know all the words.

We were there just as two parachuters landed right in front of the 'Bama on the beach.
