We were privileged go be taken on a sunset excursion by Captain Jim Russell and his wife Cindy. We met them while exploring the sandy beach between Destin Harbor and the Gulf. We were walking along this pretty stretch of sand when we came upon the Calypso II, Jim & Cindy late in the afternoon.

As we approached the Marler Bridge in Destin, FL we could see that there was not going to be much room to spare for the sailboat's mast to fit underneath.
We saw dolphins leaping through the water's surface and Captain Jim & Cindy Russell DO know where the dolphins are !!
You'll be able to see many types of boats as you sail along on the Calypso II. Interesting as it is, this wooden sailboat looks like it is a bit crowded with vacationers. You will be able to spread out and enjoy more room sailing with just your family or group with Jim & Cindy.
Destin's waters are a beautiful color and clear as a bell. It will be worth your time to ride over to Destin for a day trip and sailing adventure on the Calypso II. Then return to your hotelor condo in the more relaxed atmosphere and less traffic of Gulf Shores / Orange Beach / Perdido Key areas.
